Anthony Ervin is our hometown hero! A role model with a giving spirit, international water safety icon, Olympic Gold and world champion medalist....and a humanitarian through his music. Congrats for the Silver medal in the 400 Free relay and the fastest non-tech suit time in American history in the 50 Free with a 21.42 at the FINA World Championships in Spain last week!
I was lucky enough to be in attendance for this event as well as a swim clinic Anthony did the following day with some Boston area swimmers. Both were great experiences. His story from sneaking out to the backyard pool as a small child to Olympic gold was an excellent example for the kids to hear.
Shaun Anderson & Miriam Lynch were a huge help with planning our first Water Safety Day in Boston. We are looking forward to expanding the effort to several site throughout New England for the International Water Safety Day.
