Hi Fred,
Long time my friend. I finally met John Cruzat and we spoke of Chicago's program via the park district, when I menttioned your name. Boy, did his face light up when I indicated how I found out about you by watching as a fan while swimming competitively myself in high school, while you were competing at Chicago State University. I am still in need of some guidance to put a proposal together to our County Officials about the benefits derived from building a pool here. Give me your number and I will be more than happy to call when it is convenient to do so. Take Care and hope to hear from you soon. Darrick aka dswimmerman

Hey Fred,
I'm pretty much open, I do have practice until 8:00 so anytime after that is great. Is that too late? If not I will try to reach you tonight.

Hi Fred,
Thanx for responding. I know how busy you must be now a days.
Anytime is good for me, because right now, I am unemployed due to an accident I was involved in on the job(truck driver) and am awaiting workman's comp to kick in, so I am trying to do other positive things with my time, instead of mopeing. Here is all my info. Home# 601-792-8106. email address: dswimmerman@yahoo.com; home address: 121 Hazels Loop, Prentiss, MS 38474...I have been in touch with John Cruzat and Shaun Anderson, who will try to assist me in getting my goal accomplished. Hope to hear from you soon. God Bless You!!!

Hey Fred! Aren't you a good friend to Eric Blackmon. Seems like I've seen you a couple of times when he has had family and friends over.

Hi Fred,
Man, long time no see. I use to watch you compete at CSU in Chicago, while I was competing at the high school level(Chicago Vocational H.S.) If I am not mistaken, you were once the Aquatic Director at Olive-Harvey Community College. You truly were an inspiration and role-model for me, because it was watching you compete that I decided to also swim breast stroke(I swam breast stroke on the medly relay team and the butterfly. It's good to see that you have excelled tremendously in your chosen field. I now reside in rural Prentiss, MS, where there is not a public pool. I drive 40 minutes just to get a workout in now and then. Can you lead me in the right directions to do whatever's necessary to convince our local politicians to construct a pool here in our community? I would love to give back to our youth, what God has blessed me with, so we can decrease the number of drowning deaths of not only African American children, but ALL children that has a desire to learn how to swim.

Welcome aboard Fred!! I look forward to working with more in Chicago and maybe even getting you to come to Toledo to work with The Josh Project. You are a great role model for our children. All good things to you and your family............
