Thanks you for your pioneering work, brother. I'm a member of the Ghana Swimming Association. Our organization seeks to build a competitive swimming program for the country as well as promoting water safety as a vital life skill.
In September, Ghana will be participating in the the All Africa Games a continent wide competition held every four years.
We are looking for elite swimmers based in the USA interested in representing Ghana in international competition. In your capacity as a member of the US Swimming Diversity Committee do you have you come across any elite college or high school swimmers of Ghanaian parentage? It may be possible to extend dual citizenship to elite African American swimmers interested obtaining dual citizenship, naturalizing and swimming for Ghana in the All African Games and the Olympics.
Hi. I noticed how you slipped in that info about the Pirates and their win...... Got dumb questions--is a Ladies cut more fitted? What is the difference between the two cuts? Tried to find this out on the web site. Let me know if you have posted this info on the site :-) Thanks.
I knew about it through Stan Lee with the Aquatic Foundation of Metropolitan Los Angeles AFMLA, but I recently saw one of my swimmers on the site, Leroya Sanford. So I decided to apply.
Why is it not possible to send direct messages to you or to the Diversity site when we receive a message. All of the emails I tried sending directly to the site are returned with an error message. Is it because of how the site was originally set up? I enjoy receiving the information as it is very well done and informative.
I am volunteering with my club. I don't know the details yet, but I think I'l be coaching people on the rowing machines before they head out on the water. I'll post an update following the event.
I followed a link on LinkedIn. I thought I posted something earlier in discussions, but maybe not. I am a 30 year old female, and have worked in the aquatics industry for a little more than three years now. I am located in Rockingham, NC, and recently have been trying to incoporate a program to offer subsidized swim lessons to minorities in my community-particularly African-American and Native Americans. I have experienced some trouble, since rules prohibit grant funding unless I obtain 501c3 status. So, I've been trying to navigate the labyrinth that is the IRS, but was wondering if you guys blanket other organizations. I am a member of Professional Swim Coaches, a group on LinkedIn, and apparently, so is someone working in your organization. I followed their thread, and found this website.
Hi Jason! My daughter is a member of DC Wave Swim Team. Initially heard about you guys via facebook but again via the Black History meet in Feb. and Black heritage meet this weekend. Thanks for the add!
Workshop was AWESOME! Thanks for asking. Had about 40 people come out to support, learn & have fun. Hadn't been to ATL in a long time. It's so beautiful,. and I hope we'll be invited back soon to present another workshop.
Hello Jayson. I was invited to join by Roland White via Facebook. Your organization also reached out to my father, Dr. Carey Hughley to highlight his career as a swimming coach at Hampton Institute (now University) and his involvement with USA Swimming as an official. You all have a great mission here so keep up the good work! This a public health issue after my own heart.
Thanks for the welcome! I would love to speak with you and Shaun Anderson regarding your work with the Diversity in Aquatics website and community efforts. I will be writing a column for Aquatics International and would love to include information about the work you're doing to diversify the Aquatics industry! Please let me know the best way to get in touch with you and/or Shaun. I am planning to stop by the Deanwood event to check it out. Thanks!
Hi Jayson. thanks for the welcome. I found out about Diversity in Aquatics from a google search. I liked the concept very much. I love going to the beach here in Sarasota, and I love going boating as well. I also love aquatic animal life. So here I am. Thank you again for welcoming me.
