Thank you! I was actually mining for some photos of Mr. Johnnie Means. I am the Lead Online Editor for News92FM.com and we are profiling him as part of our Black History Month series. I saw the pics, found the site, and wanted to join to see if I could gain access to a few pictures.

I subscribe to _Aquatics International_, and saw mention of your organization there.  I struggle with explaining to people why they should learn how to swim (apparently fun and safety aren't enough reasons), and wanted in!  Will donate when I can.  Thanks for such a project!

Hello Jayson.  I was trying to find out information about the Josh Project for my two boys.  If you have any information you can pass on to me it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jayson,
I was conducting an internet search for the Josh Project Program (RAPS Swim Program at Norfolk State University. My daughter attended Leslie Paul's RAP Program in 2010 and I was really impressed with how Leslie works wth the kids.

Hello Jayson, I am very happy to be apart of Diversity In Aquatic. South Carolina does not have programs to exposure minority children to aquatic so most of the work in SC, I do alone. I am the coach of the Greenview Dolphin Swim Team in Columbia SC we are a USA and Summer league swim team we are trying to change the face of SC Swimming.  I attend the 2011 Diversity Summit in Colorado Springs in November. Everything is new to me from a national perspective so there is so much for to learn.   Thank-you

We're planning a masters meet this fall at Tennessee State University, attempting to resurrect some of the HBCU former swimmers/programs. Decades of exceptional swimmers came through these schools, so in an attempt to prove from an historical perspective  how blacks and other minorities have made statements in swimming, in America, since the early part of the 1920's and before. So to answer your question, I stumbled across this site purely by accident. Glad that I did!

Jayson, Good Day.  Appreciate your e-mail.  I found the link through US Swimming.  Question for you how can I become involved.  There is nothing in the area I am in & it needs something badly.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Jayson, first heard about it at last year's meet in DC.  This past weekend, Manny and Shaun came to our 1st ever Hispanic Heritage Month Meet.  We are extremely excited to have USA Swimming and Diversity in Aquatics show their support for the FAST (NY) swim team and get their feedback on how we can improve.

USA Swimming link.  I'm trying to find additional support for a minority school swim lesson program.  I am also part of the start-up committee for our local Heritage Meet (Indianapolis' Soul Sprint Classic), so this search, for me, is a littler more involved than a swim lesson program.

Hi Jayson,

Thanks. I'm a coach in Chicago and I heard about the site through my dad Arthur Lopez and our organization Nadar Por Vida. He encouraged me to join a while back and I'm finally following through.

Its funny, last night i was thinking of my swimming coach from Cardozo Senior High School and wondered about how long its been so i statred to Google his name, Stanley Gainor. I did manage to find one article here that mentioned his name a few times along with some other coaches like Mr Bell. In 1974 i was swimming unofficially with The Cardozon "Dolphins" at 12 yrs old and i beat this guy from dunbar high school. It was the first time i thought to myself i was a real competitor. Coach Gainor may be long gone but last night i heard his Motto in my head "Push, Push....Books and Chlorine, Books and Chlorine !!" I miss you Coach        Niecy  "Lil Chicana"
