To show the love of aquatics, bring awareness to the social unrest surrounding recent events and celebrate Juneteenth. Go to your local pool and take pictures with family and friends on Saturday, June 20th! #blacklivesmatter # alllivesmatter #diversityinaquatics #beentoolong #swimin #provingthemwrong
The Diversity in Aquatics Program is working with the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA) in an effort to have the drowning epidemic highlighted on the Oprah Winfrey Show during her last season. Oprah Winfrey has enormous reach and can educate millions of people and so we would like to take part in this “Oprah Campaign” to further our work in decreasing the rate of drowning. We need your help. Please take a few minutes to email the producers by visiting the following link, https://www.oprah.com/ownshow/plug_form.html?plug_id=216. The campaign begins today, January 24th and ends on February 14th so please be sure to send your email soon!
For your convenience, we have drafted a template of a message to use in support of a segment of the show being allocated towards water safety. Please be prepared to share your name, age, email, mailing address, and telephone number.
