I recently came across this video on a coaches exchange group for swimming and thought of how this applies to my own life and the lives of others. The boys in the video wanted to find a way to do what they loved and made it become a reality. Everyday each of us DAP members are making THE difference, just like these boys. Many of us are the first of the first, the one of the many who are striving to change the way that aquatic sports is viewed by others in order to save lives and share what aquatics has given us. Like the boys in the video we are told that's not the way or we feel like we are the only ones facing these hurtles, but somehow found our way to do what may seem "outside the box" or impossible. Just like the video states "It doesn't have to be big, but a little can create positive changes", that is what the Diversity in Aquatics Convention is about..the small positive changes...and finding like minded others who can help you continue to make THE Difference in the community, battling what seems impossible and saving lives of others through aquatics to make the BIG changes. Come join us and others who are laying the foundation and thinking "outside the box" to make the water safer for all and help others enjoy aquatic sports as we do.
It is the small acts of a combined force that makes the model that others can follow. Hope to see you down in Florida!
