Usually, I have a yardage goal in mind when I go swimming. That mile marker looms large in my mind, even as I remain stuck around 1000 yards for months at a time.
I have been away from the pool awhile, so I was really looking forward to swimming today and hitting at least 1000 yards.
But, life got in the way, and my son needed me this morning. I had to consider if I had enough time to go swimming this morning at all.
And then I thought about the times I’ve had restricted time, but went ahead and swam anyway. I never regretted going to the pool.
So, I went, swam app. 19 minutes, (400 yards) and was home in time to take my son to his morning appointment.
I recently saw a Dr. Oz segment on couch exercise. He talked to a woman who said she had a hard time finding time to exercise because of running her son all over the place. Her son is a football player, so ironically, she can’t exercise in her efforts to get him to his exercise event, and sitting and watching him. So someone has created a series of exercises you can do without leaving the couch.
I thought that had already been done. Has anyone seen the limber older woman with leg warmers doing chair exercises for seniors?
I digress. I’ve been thinking about that woman saying she didn’t have time to exercise, and that in part got me out the door in the 6 o’clock hour for a brief swim.
If I can make the time, with 6 children, a husband, homeschooling, and one car, anyone can.
