Arlene Semeco was another of the swim stars who participated in JAX 50. The Venezuelan champion represented her country in two Olympic games and finished 13th in the 50m free at the 2009 FINA World Championships. She placed 11th in the 50m at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Arlene won gold and set a Pan-American record in the 50m freestyle at the 2007 Pan-American games in Brazil. She also won the 100m freestyle at the 2007 Pan- AM Games. Arlene swam for the University of Alabama where she is the current school record holder in the 50 yards freestyle and the 400 yards free relay. She’s a three-time NCAA All- American. Arlene is the most decorated female swimmer in Venezuela; she has been named Venezuelan female swimmer of the year since 2001.
