William began his swimming career at the idyllic Lakeside Swim Club in Louisville, Kentucky, as a hyperactive young Quarry Gator before moving to the Lakeside Seahawks and finally to Lakeside Masters. He is now head coach of the Quarry Gators pre-competitive age group program as well as assistant coach for Lakeside Masters. William is a certified USMS Level 3 coach and adult learn-to-swim instructor. He dutifully records minutes of the Kentucky LMSC’s riveting meetings, is webmaster for KYLMSC.org and serves on the ALTS ac hoc committee. In 2018, William co-founded Central Adult Learn-to-Swim, Inc., a local nonprofit that teaches Louisville-area adults to swim free of charge. Off the pool deck, William works as a professional freelance photographer while studying to become an English teacher and has an encyclopedic knowledge of Kate Bush and Spongebob Squarepants.
