Looking forward to hearing from Shaun Anderson tomorrow at the Soul Food for Swimming Benefit! My 12 year old son will be filming the event so I hope to have some great footage to share with everyone!
Just finished up another great season of the Josh Project (Norfolk), this was our last session for 2011. Lessons will resume at Norfolk State University on January 23, 2012.
I am Josh's Moms. From the tragedy of losing my son Josh to drowning - my goal is to be triumphant and to help other mothers avoid such a horrific loss. I have been inspired to "make a difference and stop the drowning." The Josh Project is my vision. The Josh Project will save lives by teaching water safety and miniority children to swim for free! I want parents to know the importance of our children knowing how to swim. Swimming is a life skill, an accredited sport and fun! The drowning rate in our communities is like an epedemic - but together we can "cure" it. In partnership with USA Swimming the national governing body of swimmers we can make a difference. My vision for The Josh Project is to have a JPAC (Josh Project Aquatic Center) where we teach swimming, water safety, boating safety in classes and in the pools. We can do it. I believe that GOD is on my side and I will not fear. To GOD be the GLORY.
Hi Wanda,
Boy, was I proud to see you on TV, late night news, and to see you now learning how to swim yourself was so awesome. Keep up the good work that you, Cullen, and so many others do to keep our children safe and from being higher stastictics in the water. God Bless You Wamda
Dear Wanda Jean:
I would just love to meet you! also: do you know of any women of color who are in their 60's who would like to join me in a relay of the English Channel next year?
We would all raise funds and awareness for our personal causes.
Cheers and please check out my website: www.granniegatorhead.wordpress.com
God bless:

Hi Wanda, Sorry I have not been in touch. I just finished graduate school. I said I was going to send you some info on our swim program here in Springfield MA. Now that I have some time I will be sure to get you that info. I hope you are well. Thank you for speaking with me about the Josh Project back on October. God Bless you!
Wanda, I, personally had a very enjoyable time, Diving, fellowshipping, and Networking with Black Scuba Divers throughout the diaspora, in the Bahamas.
Many of the Dive Summit participants are also members of Diversity in Aquatics.
I did not personally take any photos but I will contact individuals who did and post on the DAP Website. Thank you for your enquiry. Hopefully, we can expect to see you in attendance at future Scuba diving events - Ric P.
I will call you this coming Saturday to see if you are home in the evening. Hope all is well, it will be great to speak with you. I just got a grant allocated for my first swim program!
