Good Evening, Vashon! I was referred to you by Shaun Anderson.
I am developing a water safety awareness video for teenagers entitled "WaterLine Teens: Keeping Heads Above Water." It will serve as the centerpiece of a seminar by that same name, with plans for presentation at every Norfolk public middle and high school. It features first person stories of near-drowning victims, surviving family/friends of fatal drowning victims (i.e., Wanda Butts), and rescuers, as well as water safety instruction and demonstrations, and commentaries from the likes of Shaun and John Cruzat, from USA Swimming. I am seeking to open the video with dramatic footage (staged) of a person in distress in a natural body of water and Shaun thought that you might potentially be interested.
The "WaterLine Teens" project is a special program of the Virginia Department of Health, Norfolk District. As such none of the people featured in the video are being paid for their appearance in this non-profit program. We would not be able to offer you any compensation. Sorry for the short notice, but we are looking to shoot something at about 1:00 p.m. tomorrow at Ocean View Beach. Because of the temperature of the water, certainly we aren't asking anyone to be out there any longer than just a few minutes, just long enough to establish that the person is in distress. We would set up everything about the shot, so that it can be done as quickly as possible. Still, it has been suggested of course that a wet suit might need be worn.
Would something like this interest you? If so, do please give me a call at your earliest opportunity at 757-839-7963 (cell). Thank you for your every consideration!
Peace & Blessings!
P.S.: Just as an FYI, I am an award-winning video producer. You can check out brief samples (e.g., television public service announcements) of my work at www.myspace.com/terranceaferanderson and click on the video link. Best!
