More about me:
My name is Mac Varilla and have an extensive aquatic background and lifestyle. I learned the importance of swimming at the age of 2, from my mother who grew up on the sandy shores of Bacolod, Philippines. It was very important for my mother to have all her children water-safe. I spent half my childhood in Long Beach, California & Chicago, Illinois, playing multiple sports, including swimming and water polo, and lifeguarding all summer in my teens. I have coached youth swimming and water polo for over 10 years and have been fortunate to build many relationships and experiences along the way. Diversity is Aquatics is important and am very happy to have found the organization. I am partnered with the American Heart Association, Illinois Heart Rescue, Positive Coaching Alliance, and USA Swimming & Water Polo and Philippines Water Polo to name a few. I would be more than happy to share and improve diversity in aquatics and build water safety skills to the next generation.
