Rattlers get off to impressive start versus Seminoles

The Rattler men got finally got the 2010-2011 season started against Florida State. The Seminoles won the meet 122-43, but there were a few bright spots for the men.



Here are some of the highlights from the meet:



Freshman Joel Sankar  got a stellar start to his collegiate career. Sankar, the lone winner for the Rattlers on the day, posted a time of 2:03.95 in the final individual event of the day, the 200 yard individual medley. His swim also earned a spot in… Continue

Rattler women improve versus Florida gulf Coast

The Lady Rattlers showed solid improvement last Friday in the dual meet versus Florida Gulf Coast University. The Eagles won the meet 83-55, at Florida State’s Morcom Aquatic Center.



Every single swimmer posted improved times in their events. Team highlights from the meet:

Women's Weekend Preview: Florida A&M hosts Florida Gulf Coast

This Friday, the Lady Rattlers (0-1,0-1) will host three-time CCSA conference champion Florida Gulf Coast University(1-0,0-0).

This will be the first home meet of the season for the Lady Rattlers. The women are excited about swimming some great comeptition and stepping up in their respective events.

Men's Weekend Preview: Florida A&M versus Florida State

After many weeks of waiting, the 2010-2011 Men's swimming team will get their first competition of the season as they take on cross town rival Florida State University. 

While the women were on the road earlier this month at the University of North Florida, the men have been patiently preparing over the month of October. Alexandria Age earns CCSA Top 16 ranking

Sophomore Alexandria Age made the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Top 16 times list this week with her efforts against CCSA foe University of North Florida. Her time of 1:05.43 in the women's 100 backstroke ranks her 14th in the conference. Congrats to Alex and keep up the good work!

Doug,
I'm feeling all of this "Rattler" Orange & Green. It sure would be nice if FAMU started a SCUBA Program on "the Hill." The only other HBCU that has a diving program is Hampton U. I am told
that Morgan State U. now has a student SCUBA club but I'm not sure if they offer a class for credit. FAMU would be an excellent location. FSU and UF both have SCUBA programs. -Ric Powell

Where is Daniel? I was just wondering how many girls are in that team photo you have up above? But thats a great pic!
