  Diversity Outreach for Metropolitan Swimming and USA swimming

Where: Corona Park Aquatics center Flushing NY

Time: 9am - 2pm

Expected Attendance: 50 Coaches and approximately 100 swimmers and their parents

Overview: Metropolitan swimming will be partnering with John Hutchins and the NYC aquatics program to enhance their opportunities for their coaches and athletes.  Metropolitan swimming will provide a coaches clinic for all 50 coaches of the NYC aquatics program.  Each coach will be provided the opportunity to bring swimmers from their program for a swim clinic.   Metropolitan swimming will also provide a swimmers clinic in the AM and a small relay meet in the afternoon.  Olympic swimmer including but not limited to Anthony Ervin Olympic gold medalist 50 free Sydney Australia 2000.

 

Anthony Erivin Bio:

One of the world's top sprinters...joined Matt Biondi as the second man in Cal history to win an Olympic gold medal in the 50m free...also won a gold medal at the Sydney Olympics as a member of the United State's 400m medley relay (freestyle leg in prelims) and a silver medal as a member of the U.S. 400m free relay...this past summer notched a runner-up finish in the 50m free (22.35) and the U.S. National Summer Championships...earned two silver medals in the 50m free (22.28) and as a member of the U.S. 400m free relay (3:15.25) at the Pan Pacific Championships in Yokohama, Japan...won world titles in the 50m (22.09) and 100m free (American record 48.33) at the 2001 World Swimming Championships in Fukouka, Japan...was the 2001 U.S. national champion in the 50m (22.18) and 100m (48.98), as well
